This post is by Steve Woods, Rwanda Team Blogger.

One of the most joyful moments for our team is being able to see much healthier children, with a renewed joy for life, playing shortly after their heart surgery.

In what has become an annual event, today was the Annual KFH football game (KFH is King Faisal Hospital if you haven’t cuaght on to the lingo just yet). W’re never quite sure if it’s Operation Open Heart team vs patients, or even if there are two teams!. The children always have more energy than the volunteers – but it’s safe to say everyone walks away a winner!

Even 2 year-old Joy joined in the fun. The flowers were far more interesting than the sport though, and a precious moment when she wanted to put them behind Cisco’s ear!
