Today is the last day of theatre due to tomorrow being the symposium. As the project starts to wind down I spent yesterday afternoon in the opearting room with the theatre team.

Theatres is a whole different scenario altogether, still seamlessly working together but is something that will always blow my mind. Not having a medical background probably ads to the reason I find it hard to fathom. Just how everything works together is nothing short of incredible. I just stand in the corner like a fly on the wall as the team works around me setting up for the case. My job is to try and capture the beauty of it all.

Dr Noah Tapaua is the head for the surgery here in PNG and has been the main surgeon for the week working aside Dr Yishay Orr. It is awesome to see the enthusiasm the local team has to get involved. Dr Arvin Karu, Anaethetist and Norman Kambo the local perfusionist are all taking lead this week in their roles alongside our OHI team.

I will let you make your own mind up with these photos…
