It is getting quieter and quieter here in Fiji with day by day both patients and volunteers leaving to head home to their villages and back to Australia.

On Saturday the pathfinders from the local church came in and sung to the patients and bought gift boxes with some clothing, toys, games, etc. The patients were very grateful for their generosity and their hospital beds are filled with hand made crafts and toys to take home with them, to remember the sentimental day they received heart surgery.

Training is a massive part of what they do here in Fiji and its always encouraging to see the local staff become more and more confident.

We have been welcomed here in Fiji with open arms, the Fijian people are beautiful and sure know how to cook. We have definitely not gone hungry over the past 10days with food continuously coming in as well as well as function after function. We were also very fortunate to have an evening at the Australian High Commission.

As the last patients pack up their things and head some, so are we. We have been very grateful for your hospitality Fiji!
