Tie down any loose items and know where the nearest evacuation centres are.” Having responded extensively to Cyclone Pam in Vanuatu last year, ADRA is preparing to extend similar assistance to Fiji. “Westand ready to offer emergency assistance as soon as the cyclone passes. Our staff receive emergency training for disasters like this and I’m confident we can respond quickly.” “ADRA hasa strong presence on the ground and our existing partnershipswill allow ADRA personnel to respond efficientlytothis disaster.” The storm surge will bring heavy rain and possible flooding, as well as hurricane strength winds that could flatten entire villages.
