Coastal Trek raises $30,000 Home » Tales from the field » Coastal Trek raises $30,000 Posted on 14 October, 2013 The Coronary Care Unit of Sydney Adventist Hospital held a fundraising walk in support of Open Heart International Cambodia. It was a warm and sunny day on Sunday the 29th of September which attracted over 60 supporters. Some ran, walked and even crawled through a 20km coastal trek from Narrabeen Lakes to Palm Beach. On average, it costs Open Heart International $3500 to provide heart surgery per patient. Each entrant made a commitment to raise at least $500 to help raise money to help sponsor Cambodian kids through complex heart surgery. The aim was to raise $20,000 from the event and proceeds from the event came close to $30,000! We would like to take this opportunity to say a big thank you to Sydney Adventist Hospital’s Coronary Care Unit (CCU) for all their energy, not only in the event but also in your fundraising.
