Saving little lives Home » Tales from the field » Saving little lives Posted on 22 February, 2018 It is yet another day of Open Heart International (OHI) team working in Yangon. Another six cardiac surgical procedures have been done on both adults and paediatrics. Not to mention many interventional procedures in all Cath labs in Yangon and Mandalay. The good news is that all patients are progressing well! All team are working extremely hard teaching and sharing their skills which is wonderful to see. In the last two years we have taken a Neonatal ICU Specialist and Nurse based in Yankin Children’s Hospital Neonatal Unit. It has 40 beds but there are over 80 neonates in the unit and up the corridors. I am very impressed with the efforts of the local and OHI team in this area as they try to save these little lives.
