The Open Heart International team arrived in Cambodia late on Saturday night.

Twelve hours later we were greeted at Angkor Hospital for Children, with a bunch of gorgeous kiddies awaiting our arrival at the Cardiology Department doors.

By the end of the first day we have most of our week planned out for us, with seven of the children already on our list for cardiac surgery.

Tomorrow morning the real work begins, it will be a big morning for Cambodian surgeon Dr Vuthy. He will be leading the surgery himself, with Australian surgeon Dr Ian Nicholson overlooking proceedings. Good luck Vuthy – this is your time to shine!

We are really looking forward to the week ahead with a great bunch of people, both new and old faces, who have all helped made this project possible.
