BERNICE SARPONG

Bernice joined Open Heart International in 2016 in the newly created role of Development Practice Officer. Immediately prior to her appointment she worked within local government in Health Promotion & Protection coordinating healthy lifestyle events such as the Campbelltown City Challenge Walk, Fisher’s Ghost Fun Run and child immunisation clinics.

She has lived in outback Australia in the Gulf of Carpentaria working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island communities facilitating community development initiatives for youth and elders. She has worked in humanitarian relief and rehabilitation in South Sudan and in international development work in Southeast Asia.

Bernice is passionate about international development! She works with the Project Coordinators to ensure our program is aligned with best practice international development framework and principles.
