Severe flooding in Nepal, India and Bangladesh has killed more than 1200 people and left millionsof people displaced.

As a global network,ADRA is responding toassist thousands of people in Nepal affected by this crisis.

In Rautahat, ADRA has already distributed shelter items, food packages and hygiene kits to 450 households. In Sarlahi, Banke and Bardiya, 500 households were provided with shelter and hygiene kits.

The shelter kitsconsist of 1 tarpaulin (3.6 x 2.4m), 10 metres of nylon rope and a large plastic sheet per family.

The food packscontain30kg of rice, 5kg of lentils, 4kg of sugar, 1kg salt and two litres of cooking oil.

These food packs are intendedto sustainone family for two weeks.

In the coming days, ADRA is assisting more than 3000 people from another 600 households in central and eastern Nepal.

As well as shelter and food kits, each of these families will also receivea bedding set including twomattresses, sheets, blankets and mosquito nets, and a kitchen set comprising a bucket, cooking pot, plate, glass, cup andserving spoon.
